Stunning black colt by Lindenlee Ace (Oct 2009)

At long last, Skye has had her foal by our former resident sire, Lindenlee Ace. Born around 2am on Friday 9 October, he's an outstanding type with a lovely personality. Currently an unusual greyish colour, we expect he'll be black or black/brown. He has one tiny white sock and a few white hairs on the forehead by way of a star.

He will make a very attractive show horse, but with high-octane performance bloodlines on both sides (Bobby Bruce on the dam's side and Rivoli Ray on the sire's), he won't be for the feint-hearted. A born campdraft or polocrosse horse, he's already tearing up the paddock on day one! He will be available for sale on weaning and registration in May 2010.

Our first foal by our home-grown stallion Lindenlee Ace (Aug 2009)

Our beloved broodmare Kakadu produced a big chestnut colt on 27 August by our very own Lindenlee Ace after a difficult birth in which we had to assist in pulling him out. We'd been hoping for a filly to keep for ourselves from this top dam line, but it wasn't to be. However, her third colt in a row is beautifully conformed and already has an outstanding temperament.

We expect he'll excel in polocrosse like so many in this line, but with the good looks  and personality of his half-brother Jack, he'll also make a champion show horse. He will be available for sale on weaning and registration in March 2010.

An outstanding black filly born to Honey (Aug 2009)

Our first foal of the season arrived a little early, born in secret down in the back paddock to Honey. She's an outstanding little black filly with a crescent shaped star and no white feet, which I'm happy about! With Honey now in her mid-20s and due to retire soon, we look forward to keeping this little beauty to campaign and one day breed a new generation of champions from.

Named for her sire, well-performed campdrafter Roscommon Anzac, her name will be Lindenlee Piper and if she's anything like either parent, she'll not only have the looks but the ability in the show ring.

First in 3yo gelding then reserve champion gelding overall for Jack (March 2009)

Again our ring was sandwiched between the sideshow, the showjumping and the harness horses, putting a lot of even the most seasoned competitors off their game. Jack more than out-ran me in the led class, putting in huge strides and taking out first place under three years old gelding in a good field.

He then went on to win reserve champion against all the winning geldings in each class, narrowly missing out on the Champion gelding sash again.

We got called into the ring in the ridden class out of eight horses, but just missed out on a place with Jack having trouble holding his halt when a showjumper crashed through all six bars right behind us.

Jack wins another blue ribbon at Braidwood Show (March 2009)

Jack put in another star performance, this time at Braidwood, winning first place in 'led gelding under 4 years', but again missed out on the Champion gelding sash to an older horse.

Other competitors commented on his nice movement, but with champion class right before our ridden class, we couldn't make it back to the ring saddled and warmed up in time for the ridden under 3 year old class.

Ace makes Champion at Bowral (Jan. 2009)

Ace was a perfect gentleman for four hours standing around, checking out the competition in the warm up arena at the recent Bowral Show. He didn’t put a foot wrong, despite the excitement of the show and having mostly just served mares for the last few months!

He took out first the blue ribbon for ASH colt under three, then the Champion colt sash, paving the way for another successful year in the showring and his entry in the high point competition.

He'll continue his campaign for 2009 in led classes but expect to see him doing just as well in ridden classes after a winter of intensive training with leading horse educator, Kate Fenner, at Goulburn's Kandooequine training centre.

Jack wins blue ribbon at Queanbeyan Show (Nov. 2008)

Despite it being his first show and having our ring sandwiched between the sideshow and harness horses, Jack put in a stellar performance at Queanbeyan.

He won first place in the geldings under three years old class and narrowly missed out on the Champion gelding sash. We endured a huge marching band making its way through the showground, waiting for the ridden class but when they broke for lunch, we just took the opportunity to have a dry run in the mostly empty ring before heading home. It had been a very long day in the heat for both of us!
